Before Your Hardwood Installation
Having an understanding of our hardwood installation process can help make installation day a more streamlined process. Here is what you can expect prior to your hardwood flooring installation with Concept Flooring:
- Our crew will have you walked you through our installation process, answering any questions that you might have about timelines, procedures, and so on.
You should remove all furniture from the rooms where the installation will take place. - Ensure that children and pets will not be present on installation day.
- Complete any painting work that might need to be done.
- Discuss overall goals and expectations with the installation crew.
During Hardwood Installation
- Hardwood flooring boils down to two basic installation methods. They are glue-down and nail-down installations.
- For a glue-down hardwood installation, the adhesive will be spread on your subflooring, with the hardwood planks being laid one by one. The pieces will be cut to fit the layout of the room.
- For a nail-down hardwood installation, the planks will be nailed to your floor after the layout has been established.
- Be sure to clarify which one your crew is utilizing before your hardwood installation begins.
After Your Hardwood Installation
- Once finished, our crew will complete a final walkthrough to assess the work.
- We suggest running a fan to remove any installation smells.
- Stay off your floors for a period of time to allow the materials to settle. For glue-down installations, this is especially important.
- Enjoy your new hardwood floors!
